If other parts of the New Zealand economy are afflicted by self-doubt, the technology sector has no such hang-ups.
Insiders will tell you the ICT industry alone contributed nearly $20 billion to the economy in 2008. And that at $4.9 billion, the top 100 technology companies' export sales were last year second only to dairy's. About 40,000 people work in the New Zealand ICT sector and more than a quarter of venture capital and seed funding invested in the country goes to ICT companies.
